GT Motoring E92 M3

It might be a common sight to see an E90/E92 M3 on the UMG blog, but seeing photos of Greg’s well-built E92 M3 is a somewhat rare case anywhere on the web. With the E9x production rapidly coming to a close, it seems the web has been littered with tons of incredible examples – but GT Motoring has proven that there is still much to be seen on the latest 3-series chassis.

This car has served as the mule for many of the premiere parts line that GTM calls Challenge – including the ever popular carbon fiber lip and under tray combination, carbon fiber rear diffuser, carbon fiber and kevlar reinforced trunk, exhaust and x-pipe. Coupling these parts with some Volk TE37SL wheels, Brembo brakes and KW suspension, this car couldn’t look anymore purpose built from the outside. Needless to say (given GTM’s reputation for building some amazing dedicated race and street cars), the interior of this E92 M3 doesn’t disappoint either – bolstering the scarcely optioned M car with carbon fiber doors, Stack gauges, Recaro Sportser CS seats. All together a very focused package.

Before getting some video time with Green Hell at Autobahn Country Club, I hopped into the car with Greg to shoot some quick photos of his car on the track. I had only heard the new Challenge exhaust once before, but hearing it under some load from inside the cabin (instead of standstill revving) gave me a new appreciation for its unique sound (click HERE for a video clip).

Ultimately, it was great to finally give this car a bit of attention that it DEFINITELY deserves. Having a plethora of Challenge parts on my own car, I’m happy to see the Chicago-bred brand growing into one of the most well-respected and desired manufacturers amongst the E9x aftermarket community. With the new F30 chassis right around the corner, it goes without saying that the faithful enthusiasts will be setting aside some mod money for Challenge goodies after the E9x development.
