‘Fall into Luv’ by Denmark Vessey

Growing up, music was always my first (creative) love – as a super shy kid, it was my outlet for self expression when my voice just wouldn’t cut it. As I grew older, music fell by the wayside to school, dance and eventually to graphic/web design, photography and video (which served as the beginnings to Unscene Media Group). Despite finding my calling in other creative pursuits, whenever I find music artists that just absolutely KILL IT in their own style I can’t help but want to be a part of it. After shooting the album art for Manny Garcia’s latest EP “Where I Started From”, I’ve been itching to get UMG involved in another music project.

When RGB Lounge decided to build up a recording studio to add another dimension to their creative arsenal, I knew there was going to be magic happening on the daily. And once the walls went up, I really got a chance to see Denmark Vessey get into a hardcore workflow that will eventually become one of the illest drops this year – “I’d Rather Be Making Muzik Vol. 2.” A few days after I started hearing little previews from the new album, Morris from Equilibrium (and creative director at RGB) passed on the track called “Fall into Luv” and told me they were looking to do a video for it later in the week. Without hesitation, I popped my earbuds in and got to dissecting the track so that I’ve have a better idea about how I’d shoot the vid.

Originally, the song was intended for a different usage, but within the first 10 minutes of filming, I knew that what I was seeing in the viewfinder needed to function on its own and I couldn’t be happier with the end product. Between the changing lights, the mic/booth setup, styling by Mo from Orange Kat and the track itself, the mood of the song presented itself naturally. Because of this, I wanted to keep the natural color tones and subtle grain a part of the final product while enhancing the smoothness of the beat with the cuts.

Anyway, enough about that…scroll up, check out the video and leave some love for Denmark for an amazing track. Much more to come with RGB in the future, so stay tuned! I’ll leave you with a little iPhone clip from when I wrapped up editing last night and played it for the first time at RGB HERE. Wish I stayed recording ’til the end though!
