So yesterday, Alex Roy, David Lai and I decided to hang out (and do a little automotive photo exercise) in the Lake Forest area of Chicago.
With the way Chicago weather has been lately, it was hard to predict whether it was going to rain or not. Nevertheless, we got the cars clean, ate some lunch (thanks Alex!) and headed out to find some locations. After some driving around (and seeing a high school girl driving an Audi R8), we settled on shooting at the Lake Forest beach and an underground garage in Highland Park.
Rather than just shoot, we aimed for some higher goals. More than anything, we wanted to circumvent the typical gimmick-y car photography (e.g. HDR, etc.) and challenge ourselves to bring you high quality art either straight out of the camera or with minimal editing. Coupled with this very natural and “camera-scientific” style, you’ll also see the artistic style processing that you’ve come to know as our own. Here are some simple preview pics and a little HD video to wet your appetite:

After the shoot, we went back to Alex’s house for some Lou Malnati’s pizza, great conversation, some laughs and editing…after we caught up with our tweets and watched a little gymkhana, haha. Shoot UMG an e-mail here if you are interested in a photoshoot. Stay tuned for the full photo drop!
